Kindergarten Event Event date: April 30, 2026 Welcome to Island View School’s Kindergarten Orientation Session on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Upon arrival, park at back of school (alongside the field) and enter the school using the entrance marked “D” (see attached map). Please join us for only the session according to your child’s last name. Session #1: Students’ last names A-Ma 8:30-9:30 (Students in classroom, parents in library for parent meeting) 9:30-10:00 (family bus ride: one child + one parent) Session #2: Students’ last names Mc-Z 10:00 – 10:30 (family bus ride: one child + one parent) 10:30 – 11:30 (Students in classroom, parents in library for parent meeting) The kindergarten orientation session is an opportunity for students to experience time in the kindergarten classroom. The classroom experience will include exploratory time, small group activities, and story time. Families will also be able to experience a presentation on bus safety and go on a short bus ride around the neighborhood. While the students are in the classroom, there will be a short parent meeting in the library to discuss volunteer opportunities, school policies, transportation, and other details of life at Island View School. The presentation will not take the full time that the students are in the classroom; you are welcome to wait in the library after it is complete, or you can step out and return in time for the end of your child’s session. If you have not already done so, please be sure to bring copies (or originals we may copy) to the office. Students must have all documentation complete before attending school in September: Proof of address (SJ Energy Bill, just top portion with custodial parent name & address) Birth certificate Medicare card Vaccination record Custodial documents We are excited to meet everyone.
